Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced, DJI’s newest drone, showcases serious dual camera payloads including a 32x zoom, 16x thermal zoom and 48mp images. This powerhouse drone offers every camera payload a commercial pilot could want.
The powerhouse drone, packing powerful dual cameras has arrived as the Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced. DJI announce the new aircraft through their network of enterprise dealers today. DJI had teased a new dual camera last week. We thought it could possible be a new Mavic 3 drone. When we asked users on instagram if they thought the dual payload was attached to a Mavic Enterprise, they agreed.
The Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced offers the most camera capability in the smallest size package we have seen to date. This might be the most powerful drone we have ever seen in such a small size. It’s almost as if DJI took a Z30 camera and slapped it on a Mavic. (But Wait… there’s more)
Powerful Zoom and Thermal Sensors
DJI looks to have used the robust body of the Mavic 2 enterprise, yet replaced the payload. So what can drone pilots and public safety agencies expect from this drone?
Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced:
- 48mp Camera with 1/2″ CMOS Sensor
- 640 x 512 Thermal camera at 30hz
- RTK Capability
- 16x Digital Zoom With thermal
- 32x Digital Zoom with Video
When it comes to aircraft for industrial inspections, the Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced will be sure to replace any aging aircraft in the fleet. This powerful and portable drone replaces camera payloads that you would traditionally only find on a M600 or M210 drone. For size comparison purposes, we could probably fit a dozen M2EA’s in an M210 case.
The fact that we can have extreme 32x digital zoom on a Mavic size drone is insane. To have a full size thermal sensor on this small of a drone, paired with zoom will open the world to commercial operators.
Older drone operators remember the days of strapping a Flir core to the back of our Inspire drones. We didn’t have any control of the color palette, recording style or even direction of the camera. In fact, we would fly a commercial roof inspection and pretty much guess where the camera is pointing. Later on, drones added the capability to control the thermal camera. Then drone pilots were blessed with the ability to zoom with their cameras. Now with the Mavic Enterprise 2 Advanced, pilots get the best of all worlds, thermal and digital.
Modular Accessories Includes
Pilots familiar with the Mavic Enterprise drones love the built on accessories we have come to love. Frankly, we believe creatives should have access to the beacon, the strobe and the speaker as well. UFO videos on the history channel would have a serious production upgrade. While we believe these tools are powerful for drone creatives, we know the speaker and flash light are crucial for public safety.
These same accessories we grew to love with the Mavic 2 enterprise are also available on the Mavic 2 enterprise advanced.
- Spotlight – illuminate a forward facing subject with 2,400 lumens of light
- Speaker – 100 decibels of sound to communicate to a missing person or your best friend.
- Beacon – Perfect accessory for Night Flights to satisfy need of 3 sm visible strobe
- RTK – RTK compatible but were not sure if this is fake news RTK or real, NTRIP ready RTK.
Best Commercial Drone
Frankly, this new Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced may actually be the very best drone for commercial operators. Don’t run before you walk, we’re not talking about mapping here. We would have to conduct some tests to really see if this sensor is viable.
The Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced offers the most camera capability in the smallest size package we have seen to date. The following commercial applications will seriously aid from serious zoom and serious thermal payload.
- Construction
- Cellular Inspections
- Power line Inspections
- Roof Inspections
- Home Inspections
- Aircraft Inspections
- Insurance Adjustments/Claims and Inspections
